The City of Winnipeg has broken ground on a park improvements project in Windsor Park.

Durham Park and Agate Park are getting a combined $210,000 worth of work.

St. Boniface councillor Matt Allard says both will get new play areas, as well as benches and picnic tables, and new sod and landscaping. Pathways will be upgraded in each park. Agate Park will be getting added fencing. Allard says Agate will also get a seating node and shaded area.

"There will be a play structure, play equipment, swings, and engineered wood-fibre safety servicing," said Allard today of the new play areas.

Allard says the improvements will be done before the end of this summer.
