Yuri Klaz, leads members of the Winnipeg Singers, in a studio performance and then chats with Simeon Rusnak about their upcoming concert! 

 "Icons and Incense: The Russian Requiem" continues the Winnipeg Singers popular series focusing on slavic composers. The concert features the North American premiere of the Russian masterpiece Requiem for the Fallen Brothers by Alexander Kastalsky. As the year 2018 marks the 100th anniversary of the end of World War One, the ‚ÄúRussian Requiem" was written in 1915 and premiered in 1917 to commemorate the victims of World War One.

Also on the program is the Concerto No. 27 by Dmytri Bortniansky and Canadian works Missa Brevis Boreal by Matthew Emery, The Lord is My Shepherd by Sid Robinovitch, and In Paradisum by Kathleen Allan.

Soloists Lara Ciekiewicz (soprano), Matthew Pauls (bass) as well as Winnipeg organist Wes Elias and Cameron Denby (percussion).
