The Winnipeg Philharmonic Choir begins their 95th season with a program titled: Songs of Darkness and Light. As part of the WSO’s annual fall festival, whose theme is Angels and Demons, the Winnipeg Phil has put together a program of drama and contrasts.

Songs of Darkness and Light is divided into two halves. Darkness, narrated by Derek Morphy, features the music of Brahms, Gluck, Verdi, Britten and Mendelssohn. Light, narrated by Andrea Ratuski, will have music composed by Pinkham, Haydn, Taneyev, Bortniansky, Lauridsen and Mozart.

In addition to the narrators, the Winnipeg Philharmonic Choir will be joined by guest artists: Donnalynn Grills, mezzo soprano, James Magnus-Johnston, tenor, Howard Rempel, baritone, Donna Laube, piano, Wes Elias, organ.
