There are no new COVID-19 deaths Friday.

The Province of Manitoba says there are 297 people in the hospital due to COVID-19, with 257 of those people having active cases of the virus.

In intensive care, there are 34 people, with all but one of those people having active cases.

Hospitalizations by health region include:

  • 170 people in Winnipeg, with 156 of those people having active cases. There are 16 people in intensive care, all of them have active cases
  • 53 people in Southern, with 41 of those people having active cases. There are 11 people in intensive care, with all of them having active cases
  • 37 people in Prairie Mountain, with 27 active cases. There are two people in intensive care, one of which is an active case
  • 21 in Interlake-Eastern, with 20 active cases. There are four people in intensive care, all having active cases
  • 16 people in Northern, with 13 active cases. There is one person in intensive care; they are an active case

 

Outbreaks

There are 11 new COVID-19 outbreaks, all in personal care homes.

New outbreaks include:

  • Poseidon Care Centre in Winnipeg
  • Golden West Centennial Lodge in Winnipeg
  • Convalescent Home of Winnipeg
  • Kildonan Personal Care Centre in Winnipeg
  • River Park Gardens personal care home in Winnipeg
  • Concordia Place personal care home in Winnipeg
  • Lions Manor in Winnipeg
  • Tudor House personal care home in Selkirk
  • Sandy Lake personal care home in Sandy lake
  • Fairview personal care home in Brandon
  • Hillcrest Place personal care home in Brandon

 

New cases

There are 3,265 new COVID-19 cases Friday, bringing the total number of cases to 94,850.

There are 68,847 recoveries and 24,595 active cases. The number of recorded active cases does not represent the number of active COVID-19 cases that are not confirmed by the province. The number of recorded active cases is lower than being reported as there is a backlog.

Cases by region include:

  • 2,168 in Winnipeg
  • 378 in Southern
  • 285 in Prairie Mountain
  • 264 in Interlake-Eastern
  • 170 in Northern

 

Manitoba's five-day test positivity rate is 44.4 per cent. There were 5,389 tests completed on Thursday.

The number of deaths remains at 1,408.
