'Playing' to the social aspect of kids' lives through music at Sistema Winnipeg

It isn't an overstatement to say that Sistema Winnipeg changes lives. 

In partnership with the Seven Oaks and Winnipeg School Divisions, the afterschool initiative aims to help youth make a difference in their world and communities through the skills and connections developed through music.  

On Tuesday, June 18, those skills will be on full display in the Michael Nozick Spring Concert, as Sistema Winnipeg musicians showcase their talents on strings, winds, and brass instruments -- plus, a little bit of singing! 

Ahead of the concert, Classic 107 popped by one rehearsal at King Edward School. Hear from the students and instructors about the importance of the program and how music really is changing lives. 

Free for all to attend, the Michael Nozick Spring Concert begins at 6:30 p.m. at the Seven Oaks Performing Arts Centre (711 Jefferson Ave).
