Pianist Indra Egan grew up in northern British Columbia, and is currently based in Winnipeg.

Indra holds her A.R.C.T. in Piano Performance from the Royal Conservatory of Music, and is in her fourth year of her Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance at the University of Manitoba, where she studies with Dr. David Moroz.

Indra was the winner of the 2014 University of Manitoba Concerto Competition; as her prize, she performed Chopin’s Piano Concerto No. 1 with the University of Manitoba Symphony Orchestra in their 2015-16 season.

She has also performed two concerti with the Prince George Symphony Orchestra.

An extremely versatile artist, Indra also works as a collaborative pianist, vocal coach and répétiteur in art song, opera, musical theatre, ballet, and chamber music. She recently appeared in recital with coloratura soprano Fanny Grenier in Montréal.

Indra has répétiteured Puccini’s La Bohème at Opera NUOVA in Edmonton, and the University of Manitoba Opera Theatre program’s excerpt from Monteverdi’s L’Orfeo.

She recently attended the vocal collaborative piano program at Orford International Music Academy in Québec, where she studied with Francis Perron.

The Virtuosi Concerts’ Young Artist Program provides the successful applicants with a professional performance experience at the opening of a Virtuosi Concerts subscription series concert. Performers will receive a small honourarium, a pair of tickets to that evening’s concert and will be featured in the program.
