The RCMP is reminding motorists to always be prepared for the worst after yesterday's blizzard left hundreds of motorists stranded on highways and in ditches throughout the province.

Tara Seel from RCMP Manitoba says they received over 100 calls for help on Tuesday. "In blizzard conditions, if you can stay home, that's the safest option. But if it's absolutely necessary for you to head onto the road, there's things you can do. One is, dress warmly."

Motorists should also have emergency kits that include a shovel, blankets, candles, and something to help gain traction such as sand or cat litter.
